Adie Rae

Dr. Adie Rae, publishing under Wilson-Poe, is a translational neuroscientist and multidisciplinary researcher.

She is an Assistant Scientist at Legacy Research Institute and adjunct faculty at Oregon Health & Science University.

Her research spans large-scale patient registries, census-representative surveys and interventional studies focused on mental and behavioral health, pain management and the safety of psychoactive substances.

Dr. Rae is Co-Director of the Open Psychedelic Evaluation Nexus, where she collaboratively leads efforts to measure the impact of supported psychedelic services.

Amanda Gow

Amanda Gow is the Executive Director and Co-Founder of Bendable Therapy, a nonprofit mental health organization dedicated to expanding access to innovative, evidence-based mental health care.

She provides counseling and psilocybin facilitation services and serves on Bendable's Research Leadership Team, helping to lead the organization's growing portfolio of psilocybin research initiatives.

Amanda is a licensed mental health professional and Oregon-licensed psilocybin facilitator, holding a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health.

She is committed to advancing ethical, accessible and clinically rigorous psychedelic care through research, education and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Angela Allbee

Angela Allbee serves as Manager for the Oregon Psilocybin Services Section, leading the implementation of safe, effective and equitable psilocybin services in Oregon.

Prior to this role, Angela worked to shape policy for the Oregon Health Authority, Oregon Department of Human Services, Oregon Criminal Justice Commission and Oregon Legislative Assembly.

Prior to public service, Angela spent a decade in the nonprofit sector serving older adults, individuals with disabilities, refugees, asylees, veterans and survivors of domestic and sexual violence.

She received her Executive Master of Public Administration degree from the Hatfield School of Government at Portland State University.

Anne Hamilton

Anne Hamilton is the founder and executive director of the Survivorship Collective, the first nonprofit connecting the cancer community to safe, legal, psychedelic-assisted therapies.

After surviving advanced-stage cancer as a young adult, she became an advocate for better mental and spiritual care for cancer patients, survivors and their loved ones.

Hamilton is a former litigator, 9th Circuit Clerk and current member of the Psychedelic Bar Association. She has worked in government, with nonprofits and in higher education as a professor at USC’s School of Cinematic Arts.

She is a 2025 Mira Fellow, a certified mediator, holds a JD from Yale Law School and a Master’s Degree in Philosophy from Stanford University.

Bita Moghaddam

Bita Moghaddam is a distinguished neuroscientist known for her research on the neurobiological mechanisms underlying symptoms of mental illness. She is the author of the book KETAMINE and over 150 peer-reviewed research articles.

Her work has been influential in shaping current theories about the biological underpinnings of mental health disorders and guiding future research directions.

Moghaddam joined OHSU in 2017, where she is currently Professor of Behavioral Neuroscience and Psychiatry. Her research has been funded continuously by the National Institutes of Health since 1991.

She has received several prestigious national and international research awards and has been an active educator and mentor throughout her scientific career.

Chris Stauffer, MD

Chris Stauffer, MD is Associate Professor of Psychiatry at Oregon Health & Science University and Director of the Social Neuroscience & Psychotherapy Lab housed at the Portland VA, where he conducts psychedelic therapy clinical trials and implementation research.

Past research has examined group therapy models, residential treatment settings and collaboration with Veteran peer support specialists.

He is a member of the VA-wide Psychedelic Medicine Integrated Project Team and has consulted with multiple federal agencies as a psychedelic subject matter expert.

Dr. Stauffer has provided psychedelic therapy training and supervision and co-founded the Open Psychedelic Evaluation Nexus (OPEN) at OHSU.

Christina Chwyl, PhD

Christina Chwyl, PhD, is a licensed psychologist and postdoctoral research fellow at the Portland Institute for Psychedelic Science.

Originally from British Columbia, she completed her undergraduate degree in neuropsychology at Stanford University and earned her doctorate in clinical health psychology from Drexel University.

Her research aims to advance the development of evidence-based mental health treatments, including psychedelic-assisted therapies.

She studies how emotions, mindset and relationships shape wellbeing and influence treatment outcomes, as well as the real-world risks and benefits of psychedelic use.

Heidi Pendergast

Heidi Pendergast has spent more than 20 years building and leading social impact programs across the nonprofit, labor and political sectors, domestically and abroad.

She currently shapes state-level strategy, drives legislative engagement and leads public education efforts as Oregon Director for Healing Advocacy, a national nonprofit working to expand access to psychedelic therapies.

Before joining Healing Advocacy, Heidi spent 13 years at the nation's largest healthcare union, where she directed educational programs, led issue-based advocacy campaigns and spearheaded the organization's innovation initiatives.

Jason Luoma, PhD

Jason Luoma, PhD is Director of Research at the Portland Institute for Psychedelic Science and CEO of Portland Psychotherapy Clinic, Research, & Training Center.

His research focuses on shame, self-stigma, connection and the application of psychedelic-assisted therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy as interventions for reducing shame and increasing self-compassion.

He co-founded the Open Psychedelic Evaluation Nexus (OPEN), a practice-research network studying the implementation of supported psilocybin services in Oregon.

He has more than 80 peer-reviewed publications and has co-authored two books.

Matthew Hicks, ND, LPF

Matthew Hicks is President of Synaptic Institute and a naturopathic doctor. After completing his bachelor's degree in liberal arts from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, he attended the National University of Natural Medicine in Portland, Oregon, where he earned a Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine and a Master of Science in Integrative Medical Research.

He completed an integrative mental health residency before entering private practice and also completed a certificate in psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy at the California Institute of Integral Studies.

Matthew is a licensed Oregon psilocybin facilitator and serves as Chair of the governor-appointed Oregon Psilocybin Advisory Board. He also serves on the Formulary Council of the Oregon Board of Naturopathic Medicine and is a Fellow of the American Board of Naturopathic Psychiatry.

His therapeutic approach blends Buddhist psychology, Internal Family Systems and Hakomi, a mindfulness-based somatic psychotherapy approach. He also incorporates diet, exercise, meditation, herbs, supplements and, when necessary, medication management into treatment plans.

He offers psychedelic integration work and ketamine-assisted psychotherapy.

Matthew is an Army veteran, the father of two teenagers and the husband of Dr. Olivia Hicks. He enjoys hiking, camping, international travel, soccer, meditation and Aikido.

Noah Craft, MD, PhD

Noah Craft, MD, PhD, is a physician-scientist-entrepreneur and the Co-Founder and Co-CEO of People Science, the makers of CHLOE, the Consumer Health Learning and Organizing Ecosystem.

People Science is a people-forward software company and clinical research organization supporting the research and development of alternative, complementary and complex medicines, including psychedelics.

He is the principal investigator for Healing Advocacy Fund's current study of the impact of Oregon's psilocybin-assisted care model on alcoholism.

Before launching People Science, he was Co-Founder and CEO of Science 37. He previously ran a translational research laboratory and served as Associate Professor of Medicine at UCLA.

Ryan Reid

Ryan Reid is Operations Director and Co-Founder of Bendable Therapy, where he leads organizational strategy, psilocybin research and accessible service development.

His research experience includes protocol development, study execution and dissemination for IRB-approved observational studies.

A licensed psilocybin facilitator and SoundMind Institute graduate, Ryan is committed to advancing safe, ethical and evidence-informed psychedelic care.

Todd Korthuis, MD

Dr. Todd Korthuis is a general internist, addiction medicine specialist and clinician scientist.

He began his clinical career treating patients living with HIV and has practiced addiction medicine since 2004. He serves as Head of the Section of Addiction Medicine at OHSU.

His research focuses on integration of addiction treatment and prevention in diverse health care settings.

He has served as principal investigator for multiple NIH-funded research studies and is Co-Principal Investigator of the National Drug Abuse Treatment Clinical Trials Network Western States Node.
